What are the benefits of Ice Bath Therapy?

What is it?

An ice bath is a form of cold therapy which involves submerging the body inside an ice-filled pool for three minutes. Cold therapies are inherently anti-inflammatory and have shown to benefit recovery from serious auto-immune diseases such as arthritis, MS, asthma, allergies, diabetes, and fibromyalgia. Competitive athletes are some of the biggest ambassadors of cold therapy as it is incredibly effective for muscle recovery. Additionally, cold therapy has been shown to significantly improve mental wellbeing. 

We offer various ways to experience our ice bath sessions. 1. As an audio guided 11 minute session whereby on your own, in front of your ice bath you will be audio guided with a soothing and clear voice of one of our expert breath work teachers to prepare you to dip in on your own after the audio guided session has ended. 2. Our ice baths can be booked with a private breath work expert in a more therapeutic way to release trauma and overcome anything conscious and unconscious that is limiting yourself from living your greatest potential. 3. You may add an ice bath complimentary if you have booked any other treatment, we highly recommend it after a private infrared sauna session. 4. Last but not least we offer special body, breath and ice bath classes that you can find several times a week on our well-being studio schedule.

Something extra special about our Ice Bath Therapy is that we combine it with an invigorating class that combines yoga, stretching, and breathwork as a way to prepare and relax your body and mind before entering the bath. As always when we design our therapies, we ask ourselves, how can we maximise each of our treatments so that they can benefit the physical and the spiritual at once. This preparatory class will make you exhale away the stress and enable you to recenter and free up space within yourself to welcome in more healing. This mental recentering will make the wonderful effects of the ice bath even more potent and it will allow you to immerse yourself deeper into the experience.

What should I expect from a session?

You can choose to take our preparatory yoga-stretching-breathwork class in a group setting or book a private session. However, If you are only interested in dipping in the ice bath you can simply book an independent session. If you ask us, an ice bath is a perfect way to finish off the day after a studio class.

If you feel like sharing the experience with someone else, you can also book an ice bath session with a friend, partner, or family member.

What do I need to do before a session?

 We recommend showering before and after an ice bath session. You must wear a bathing suit to our baths.

We also encourage you to take a plunge after a private infrared sauna session.

How long is each session?

Audio Guided ice bath sessions: 
15 minutes

Body Breath & Ice Bath studio classes: 45minutes

Private breath work and ice bath session 45 – 90 minutes

Dip on your own as a complimentary add on to an infrared sauna: 
3 minutes

How often do you recommend doing it?

This can be a very personal choice since there is no one-fits-all solution for ice baths. We recommend slowly easing into the process and listening to your body and its needs.
